My current research within the CDT

I study Neuromorphic representation in video tactile sensing. Conventional methods in the field made use of simple AI models such as CNNs and RNNs to process incoming image data into some form of useful tabular data, in respect to the problem at hand. The recent introduction of neuromorphic cameras in the field has opened up a vast avenue of opportunity specific to video tactile sensing. I am interested in exploring what innovations can be concieved here as well as what more general wisdom can they provide to the wider AI field.

The Tactile Robotics Group

A Bristol based group which brings together experts in robotics, neuromoscience and biomimetics to build robots with a human-like sense of touch. We are based at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory (BRL), a site of collaboration between the University of the West of England (UWE) and the University of Bristol.
